David Giuntoli was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 18th, 1980. He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied at St. Louis University High School and graduated in 1998. Then, he attended Indiana University Bloomington where he got a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Finance in 2002.

His first tv career break happened in 2003 when MTV discovered and cast him in the reality series Road Rules: South Pacific and later in Real World/Road Rules Challenge. However, Giuntoli stayed away from television, but later moved to Los Angeles in 2007 to start his acting career. In LA, he joined The Echo Theater Company. His acting career started with roles in Ghost Whisperer, Nip/Tuck, Veronica Mars, Cold Case, Without a Trace, and appearances in Hot In Cleveland, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Privileged, among others. In film, he recently was on Caroline and Jackie (2012), filmed before Grimm, opposite his future TV girlfriend Bitsie Tulloch, as her boyfriend. In 2011, he landed the lead role of Nick Burkhardt, in our favorite show Grimm.

 

Fun facts:

In 2012, he adopted an elephant during a visit to Kenya.

He auditioned for the Superman movie Man of Steel, in which Henry Cavill got the role.

He often rides his bicycle on Portland, plus like to walk from the set even if he has driven earlier.

As a St. Louis native, he is a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. On June 2013, he threw out the first pitch in the St Louis Cardinals’ game against the Texas Rangers.

  1. What I love about David G. Is his acting . The way he he portrays his character it’s heartwarming to watch because he’s so kind and considerate to his friends and family. I hope he’s like that in real life. N yes he’s a very good looking man n that doesn’t hurt the show a bit.But so is Hank. N they work so good together. I’m a old lady n I even dream about meeting them. Not cuz of their looks but for the the characters they play. But I probably have a heart attack if that dream ever came true (I’m just kidding) cuz looks don’t hurt. Lol
